NVIDIA Enters the GPU Price War with GTX 770 & 780 Price Cut

Now, the green brand is answering the bell and is slashing the prices on some of its top offerings.

Net Neutrality is Under Threat in the United States

I generally don’t succumb to hyperbole so believe me when I say that this could end up being the single most important story that we cover on this blog.

Currently, the internet in America is governed by the principle of net neutrality. This means that all data on the internet is treated equally and that internet service providers can’t charge for access to certain content on the internet. Now, Verizon is taking the Federal Communications Commission to court to get net neutrality abolished. If the court rules in Verizon’s favour, the results could be catastrophic.

Amazon.com Increases Free Shipping Minimum to $35

For the first time in over a decade, Amazon.com has increased the minimum purchase price to qualify for their Free Super Saver Shipping on items shipped in the United States. Now, rather than getting free shipping at $25, you’ll now need to spend $35.

BlackBerry Resumes BBM for Android and iOS Launch

However, to prevent the supposed server problems that crippled September’s launch attempt, BlackBerry is doing a phased roll-out of access to the service.

BlackBerry Courting More Buyers Including Google

blackberry-headerDeclaring that BlackBerry had been sold to Fairfax Financial Holdings for $4.7 billion might have been a bit premature. A report from Reuters says that BlackBerry’s sale is far from finalized and the beleaguered smartphone manufacturer is talking to more interested parties about a sale including SAP, Cisco Systems and Google.

FAA Panel Recommends Lighter Electronics Restrictions on Flights

airplane-electronic-devices-signSeven years ago, a TV show examined whether signals from cell phones actually interfered with critical equipment on airplanes. They found that there was no truth to the belief that a cell phone signal could cause an airplane to crash. You may have heard of that show. It’s called Mythbusters.

Fast forward to this week when an FAA advisory panel finally saw this episode of Mythbusters and recommended that restrictions on the use of personal electronic devices should be reduced. It’s not a total victory but it’s a start.

AMD Goes Big with Mantle API and Next-Gen GPU Announcement

amd-radeon-r9-290xRumours ahead of Wednesday’s announcement by AMD at their GPU14 Tech Day event said that AMD was going to be unveiling something that would top NVIDIA’s flagship Titan graphics card at less than the price of the GTX 780. Not only is AMD taking the fight to NVIDIA but they’re also going after DirectX by trying to bring console-level graphics optimization to the PC.

YouTube is Rolling Out New Google+ Powered Comments
