Battlefront II Reducing Hero Prices, Keeping Loot Box Based Progression

A little over 24 hours after its community team scored the worst received comment in Reddit history, EA and DICE have responded to the criticism of the cash-grabbing practices in Star Wars: Battlefront II by announcing changes to the pricing of the unlockable hero characters in the game.

EA Tries to Defend Battlefront II, Gets Most Downvoted Comment in Reddit History

Gamers have been vocally opposed to the industry’s move to introduce more microtransactions and loot boxes into games, especially when they can upset the balance of a competitive multiplayer experience.

This battle between the gamers opposed to constant and unbalanced microtransactions and publishers who are putting millions in their pockets through said microtransactions has come to a head in the run up to Star Wars: Battlefront II. EA’s defense of their progression through loot box acquisitions and the advantage of paying to progress was so bad that it is the most disliked comment in the history of Reddit.

Rogue One, Disney’s First Star Wars “Spin-Off,” Has a Kick Ass Trailer

When Disney said that they plan on releasing one Star Wars movie a year for the foreseeable future, I couldn’t help but write that off as a corporate cash in on a once-loved franchise that they purchased for $4 billion. Of course, that was before JJ Abrams came in to reinvigorate Star Wars with Episode VII – The Force Awakens, a movie that was loved by critics, Star Wars fans and movie goers to the tune of $2 billion.

Hot off the heels of The Force Awakens, LucasFilm and Disney bring us back thirty-some years from The Force Awakens to just before Episode IV – A New Hope. The first Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, tells the tale of how the Rebels stole the Death Star plans.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Character Posters Unveiled

We’re just six weeks away from the premiere of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. From the time this post went up to the earliest EST showings at 7:00 PM on December 17th, that’s only 1,018 hours. It’s not like I’m counting down but I’m keeping a close eye on the ever slowing movement of my clock and calendar.

Anyway, to celebrate the six weeks remaining mark, Disney has unveiled five new character posters featuring Leia, Han, Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren. All five have their right eyes covered in the posters. I wonder if that’s foreshadowing something.

The Meaning of Lightsaber Colours (Infographic)

Fans of the Star Wars movies know that there are four colours for lightsabers. The Jedi primarily use blue and green saber blades with Mace Windy rocking a purple saber. The Evolution of Star Wars Prequel Costumes (Infographic)

With a new trilogy of Star Wars sequels upcoming starting this December, it’s time for us to look at the prequels! Wait… What?

The folks over at HalloweenCostumes.com are probably doing a build-up to The Force Awakens so nobody panic. Other than Revenge of the Sith and the Episode One: Racer video game, I’m not sure that anybody is going to be doing too much celebrating of the prequels. That being said, they do have a fun little look at the evolution of the costume design of the big three characters from the prequel trilogy. Even if some of the dialogue, story and CGI were shaky, the movies were certainly visual tours de force.

The highlight of this year’s Star Wars Celebration was the release of the second trailer for The Force Awakens.
