King has Worst IPO Launch of 2014

candy-crush-saga-money-headerSometimes, the evil empire wins. Sometimes, the evil empire loses. And, on the rarest of occasion, the emperor is wearing no clothes. I think the latter example applies to King.

The company behind Candy Crush Saga and all the sagas as a result had their IPO launch on Wednesday. While King managed to raise $500 million for the company with the share issuance, it was a painful day for King. The company’s stock dropped over 15% in price on its first day of trading.

Disney Buys Maker Studios, Owner of YouTube MCNs Polaris and RPM

The latest proof of that is Disney buying one of YouTube’s largest multichannel network owners, Maker Studios. The owner of such prominent MCNs as Polaris, Maker Music and RPM was purchased by Disney for $500 million.

Apple and Comcast In Talks to Bring Streaming TV to Apple TV

Twitter is Testing a New “Fave People” Timeline

Apparently Twitter is a firm believer in the old Red Green adage of “If it ain’t broke, you’re not trying.” The social media / microblogging (how long has it been since someone called it that?) is currently testing another change to the service. Some users of the Android app now have a “Fave People” feature added to the app that highlight tweets from specific accounts.

Samsung Unveils the New Flagship Galaxy S5 Smartphone
