Building (Critical) Consensus: Crysis 3

In terms of visuals, the Crysis series is the most triple of the triple-A games. Okay, Crysis 2 wasn’t great if you were on a PC but the original Crysis still looks good today and Crysis 3 is an absolutely gorgeous game. However, a game can’t be carried on visuals alone. Is that where Crytek’s efforts fall apart with the third instalment in their Crysis franchise? Read the rest of this entry

A Look Back At 38 Studios’ Bankruptcy

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was released one year ago today. While the game was generally well received by critics, the game sold very poorly. In its first month of release, Reckoning sold an estimated 330,000 units with only an estimated 1.5 million units sold by the end of 2012. I would have thought that DS3 would have been on Earth and wrapped up the trilogy but that’s not how you milk money from a franchise long after people forgot what the original game was about.

Anyway, if you need a quick refresher of what happened in the first two games, GamesRadar put together a recap of the story of Dead Space 1 and 2. Some artistic liberties may have been taken.

Unfortunately, BioWare has gotten better at not tipping their hand in their patches. Read the rest of this entry

BioWare Bosses Tease ME3 DLC on Twitter

mass-effect-3-citadel-dlc-unofficial-bannerAs much crap as BioWare has taken over Mass Effect 3 (and Dragon Age 2 and Star Wars: The Old Republic), we sure as hell pay attention to every little thing they do. Yesterday, producer Mike Gamble and director/producer Casey Hudson tweeted a couple of promotional images from the upcoming Mass Effect 3 DLCs. Read the rest of this entry
