The Outer Worlds Speedrun Record Already Set at 11 Minutes

The Outer Worlds hasn’t been out for about a month but it already has an impressive speedrun record. According to HowLongToBeat, the average time to play the game is about 12 hours. If you want to beat it with some sidequests, that playtime crawls up to closer to 22 hours. If you want to play it fast? That will win you less than 2% of the run time at 10 minutes and 49 seconds. That was the case for Sharo who has already topped the Speedrun.com time sheets for The Outer Worlds Any%.

And here are the game directors of The Outer Worlds reacting to their latest game being beaten in less time than it takes to drink a coffee. This is a different speedrun by CreeperHntr. His time in this run would rank him 17th in the world.

Mario Kart Meets Star Wars in Star Kart

The folks over at Dead Pixel Digital have created what looks to be the next great gaming viral video. Mario Kart is one of the best racing games out there (Crash Team Racing notwithstanding). Even Star Wars had a couple of racing games with the fantastic Star Wars: Racer and the kart racer Super Bombad Racing. But what happens when the two are combined into Star Wars-themed Mario Kart?

Rainbow Road in a Formula One Car

Various modding communities have added some really cool things to video games. The Assetto Corsa community have created, among many other mods, a 2015 F1 mod and WTF1 dropped that into the third-party recreation of Mario Kart 64’s Rainbow Road track. While Sir Jackie Stewart, OBE and three-time Formula One World Drivers’ Champion, referred to the Nurburgring as the green hell, who knows what he would have thought of the rainbow hell that is Rainbow Road.

The Jar Jar Binks Sith Theory Explained

This theory has been floating around the internet lately but intrepid YouTuber Vincent Valentine (probably not the same one from Gaia) has compiled the evidence that fans have put forward for this one. With The Force Awakens just about two weeks away, fans are suggesting that the big villain of the prequel trilogy was actually Jar Jar Binks. When you go over the evidence, there’s actually a pretty compelling case for suggesting that Jar Jar was more than he seemed.

A Look at Steam Discoverability with Indie Devs, Writers and PR

With the recent Steam Store overhaul to improve discoverability of games and customization of the store, Popular YouTuber and common sense advocate John Bain, better known by his nom de plume, TotalBiscuit, held a panel discussion to look at the effects of the changes to Steam and the advertising of video games.
