Another Xbox One-80: Microsoft to Sell Console without Kinect
After launching at a price point $100 higher than the PlayStation 4 and insisting that the Kinect was an integral part of the Xbox One and had to be connected for the console to work, Microsoft has completely walked back on all claims about the Kinect 2.0.
Microsoft announced that they will begin selling the Xbox One without the Kinect starting in June for $100 less than the original $499 asking price.
The Force is Not with Steam’s Star Wars Weekend Sale
To mark Star Wars Day (May the 4th, if you still need to ask), Valve had a special Star Wars sale on Steam in which all the Star Wars games in its collection were on sale. Even I rounded out my collection with some games that I have floating around on CD somewhere but would need a fair bit of work to get running again on modern hardware and software.
I ended up getting lucky with my purchases. While the Force can allow you to sense the future, Valve underestimated the popularity of the promotion and ended up short on keys for it.

The Last of Us Art Director, Nate Wells, Leaves Naughty Dog
If you’re a fan of Naughty Dog, whose last-gen efforts included the Uncharted trilogy and 2013 game of the year The Lastof Us, you have to be wondering what is going on in Santa Monica. The studio suffered its third high-profile departure in two months as Nate Wells has left Naughty Dog for Giant Sparrow.
GameSpy Multiplayer Shutting Down in May
If you were a gamer in the 2000s, chances are that the most precious login you had wasn’t your Steam ID or your favourite forums but your GameSpy login. Now, with the rise of Steam, Origin, Uplay and all sorts of other server setups for online gaming, new games with GameSpy multiplayer are non-existent.
However, for people who still pick up older games every now and then and play a few pick-up multiplayer games, that may change in less than two months. GameSpy multiplayer servers will be shutting down on May 31st.
