I suppose that it would only make sense to start 2014 the same way that we ended 2013: With more lists. To follow up on my recent Best of 2013 post, I thought that it would only be appropriate to look ahead at the upcoming twelve months with my most anticipated games of 2014.
Just when you thought that your smartphone had the latest and greatest tech, NVIDIA has set the bar for mobile processors even higher. Just one year after unveiling the Tegra 4 processor, NVIDIA has unveiled something more akin to a next-generation mobile processor rather than a little increase in horsepower with the Tegra K1.
While professional gamers might be ultra competitive and go for the throat in competition, they’re a great bunch when push comes to shove. The StarCraft community, including a number of star players, have come together to support HyuN (real name Ko Hyun) after his team, Quantic Gaming, failed to pay him $23,000 in salary.

Having given you my list of the seven best games of the last generation of consoles, I thought that I should give you a brief look at some of the games that were on the shortlist but didn’t quite make the cut.
Over the course of eight years and thousands of games, cutting a list of the best of the best down to only seven game leaves many deserving games on the sidelines. So to close out our series looking at the best games of the last generation of consoles, here’s a look at some of the games that were under serious consideration for the list.
Is the 2013 Steam Holiday Sale over? Well, yes and no. A lot of the deals seem to have expired. However, Valve has brought back some popular deals for a special 24-hour Encore Special. So 24 games are on discount until 1:00 PM EST tomorrow. I wish Valve was a lot more clear with how their sales work.
Still, there are some fantastic deals today that you should check out just in case you were looking for some more games or can’t wait for the next big sale. Whenever that is.

The surprise hit of 2012 was The Walking Dead. Given how often that licensed games disappoint and Telltale’s shaky track record before the release of the first episode of their The Walking Dead series, no one was expecting Telltale’s new game set in the universe of The Walking Dead comic books to be as great as it was. The first five episodes of The Walking Dead picked up dozens of Game of the Year awards along with seemingly hundreds of other awards in 2012.
So The Walking Dead: Season Two had a lot to live up to. Could the first episode of Season Two of The Walking Dead live up to the original or would it be underwhelming like the 400 Days DLC?
It’s the final 23 hours of the Steam Holiday Sale. All signs point to the sale ending at 1:00 PM EST tomorrow so be sure to clear those must-buy items off your wish by then. I’d like to say there’s more to today’s daily deals but the sale seems to go out with a whimper rather a bang.
