Gaikai Game Streaming Coming to PS4 in 2014

ps4-gaikai-headerWhen Sony bought the Gaikai game streaming service earlier last year and announced this year that it would be used to add backwards compatibility to the PlayStation 4, it certainly got people’s attention. Neither the PS4 nor the Xbox One offered native backwards compatibility and, properly implemented, using Gaikai could give Sony a leg up in the console war.

Now, Sony Computer Entertainment President Andrew House says that we can expect Gaikai to be rolled out starting in 2014.

Building (Critical) Consensus: Killzone: Shadow Fall

killzone-shadow-fall-ps4-box-artIt’s time to do our first roundup of critics reviews for next-gen games. Since the PlayStation 4 came out first, I thought that it would be a good idea to start with the PS4’s big first-party exclusive. While Xbox One fans aren’t getting an exclusive FPS at launch, PlayStation fans are getting Killzone: Shadow Fall to kick off the new generation. However, there aren’t any suggestions as to what next-gen gameplay is. I’m not saying that devs should be allowed to retread the same old gameplay without updating it but if you can’t quantify what improved gameplay is, can you mark a game down for it?

Sony Blames Taxes for High Brazilian PS4 Price

playstation-brazil-presserThere are only two things in life that are guaranteed: Death and taxes. Coincidentally, it’s taxes that may lead to the death of the PlayStation 4’s chances in the Brazilian market. Sony says that the country’s high taxes on imported electronics are the reason for their next-gen console being priced at the Brazilian equivalent of over $1,800 US dollars.
