Who doesn’t like a good recut trailer? Here’s one that I liked that shows Star Wars (Episode IV – A New Hope for people who weren’t around for when it was only called Star Wars) cut as a Quentin Tarantino movie. A bunch of the classic Tarantino hallmarks are in there like the vintage music, a lot of violence and some sharp Han Solo dialogue. You’d almost want to watch this movie if you didn’t realize that you’ve already watched it countless times.
EA Cancelling Multiplayer for Over 50 Games on June 30th
With the shutting down of GameSpy’s multiplayer servers at the end of June, we knew a number of old games would be put out of their misery. It looks like the back catalogue of EA will be among the hardest hit by the closure of GameSpy’s multiplayer services with over fifty titles seeing the multiplayer portion of the games closed permanently.
Another Xbox One-80: Microsoft to Sell Console without Kinect
After launching at a price point $100 higher than the PlayStation 4 and insisting that the Kinect was an integral part of the Xbox One and had to be connected for the console to work, Microsoft has completely walked back on all claims about the Kinect 2.0.
Microsoft announced that they will begin selling the Xbox One without the Kinect starting in June for $100 less than the original $499 asking price.
Comic Book Pull List for May 14, 2014
Normally, I don’t struggle finding recommendations for the pull list but it seems as though options are a little slim this week. That might be because everyone is releasing everything next week, including Forever Evil wrapping up.
I do have a few recommendations for this week in the meantime. Before Forever Evil ends, DC is already launching the next Justice League series to replace JLA. It’s the Justice League United #1 which opens up proceeding in Canada which automatically means that it’s awesome. Failing that, you can always try the Superman vs. Doomsday one-shot Superman: Doomed #1. And over at Marvel, they get into the world of organized crime in United States of Murder Inc. #1.

Game of Thrones: The Laws of God and Men Review
The moment we’ve been waiting for since the Purple Wedding. Okay, given how trials tend to go for Tyrion and this show’s propensity for killing off lead characters, I don’t know if anyone was looking forward to how this turns out but I’d imagine we were looking forward to how it played out on-screen.
How it played out was absolutely amazingly with some Emmy-worthy performances… And with a shirtless Ramsay Snow taking care of business in the Dreadfort.
Game Trailers Roundup for May 12, 2014
A combination of a later trailer roundup and a bit of a slow news week last week means that this week’s edition of the game trailers roundup is slightly shorter than usual. I don’t know if that assessment is an accurate one to make after only three game trailers posts but I’m going to make that assertion.
This week, we have announcement trailers for Killing Floor 2 and the 3DS remakes of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. We also get another look at Sunset Overdrive and the launch trailer for Episode Three of The Walking Dead: Season Two. The new episode of TWD:S2 drops this week so I’m hoping to have a review up next week.
Dota 2’s The International Compendium Purchases Double the Prize Pool in Three Days
Last Thursday, Valve released their official digital program for this year’s Dota 2 world championships, The International. As was the case last year, a 25% portion of the sales of the program, The International Compendium 2014, will go towards funding the prize pool for this year’s International.
After only three days on the market, the prize pool had more than doubled to eclipse The International 3’s prize pool and set a new record for the largest prize pool in eSports history at over $3.4 million and climbing.
