With Captain America: Winter Soldier coming out this week, the internet’s occasional hobby of figuring out how much it would cost to be a superhero has come up again. This time, it’s about how much it costs to make Steve Rogers into Captain America. Unlike fellow Avenger, Iron Man (AKA Tony Stark), the Captain doesn’t have a lot of high-tech gadgets. In fact, apart from lab costs to make the serum and the materials cost for the shield, just about anyone could afford to be Captain America.

Geek Links of the Week
A bunch of your favourite Polaris YouTubers were in LA last weekend for the most expensive and the most botched game jam in the history of gaming. That’s because the production team took a game jam, tried making a reality TV show and had it all backfire. [Indie Statik]
Last week’s Geek Links featured Asher Vollmer talking about the clones of Threes. This week, the folks at Giant Bomb talk to the people behind those clones. [Giant Bomb]
You don’t have to be a little company or tech blogger to know the US patent system is outdated and broken. Shark Tank shark and billionaire Mark Cuban feels the same way. [Politico]
People are dual-wielding cellphones but not to get the best of iOS and Android. It’s to keep their work and personal lives separate. People would rather carry two phones around than one BlackBerry that claims to do that. Says a lot, RIM. [Wall Street Journal]
Want a look inside how your favourite YouTuber’s are bought and paid for. TotalBiscuit posted an example of an email he typically gets from PR companies looking to buy favourable coverage. [Paste Bin]
Get Hyped for Season Four with These Game of Thrones Trailers
This is it! Game of Thrones is back this weekend! While some suckers are going to be watching WrestleMania 30 with Vince McMahon trying to be Tywin Lannister, there’s no substitute for the real deal.
So for today’s Friday of Ice and Fire, it’s time to give the trailers for Season Four of Game of Thrones one final watch before it all begins again.
Geeky Condom Wrappers
I think that we all need a good laugh to close out the week. It’s certainly felt like a long one up here in Canada and I’m not just saying that because a weird rain/snow mix winter storm is rolling through right now. So I thought I’d share this geek culture set of condom wrappers by Kode Logic.
Remember, kids, practice safe sex and the following images are ever so slightly NSFW.

The Best of the Rest of April Fools’ Day
Who says that I can’t drag out April Fools’ recaps beyond just April 2nd? Since I’m extremely busy IRL, I’m giving you some of the best press releases that were dropped on April 1st as well. It wasn’t just Blizzard having all the fun on April Fools’ Day. Many more devs got in on the action.

Comic Book Pull List for April 2, 2014
Without that issue of Forever Evil #7 that I was looking forward to this week and no Justice League on the horizon, that DC Comics section of the pull list looks awfully bare. However, DC Comics superstars Ivan Reis and Joe Prado (who are lovely people should you ever get the chance to meet them) are back on the Aquaman beat with Aquaman and the Others #1.
Over at Marvel, they’re doing another hypothetical alternate reality miniseries. This time, it’s about the Age of Ultron storyline. What if Hank Pym was able to create an even more dangerous version of Ultron? We find out in What If: Age of Ultron #1. And Dark Horse continues to do their Joss Whedon TV series continuations with Angel and Faith: Season Ten #1.
