When it comes to fan-made trailers, there is no one better than Luke Ritson. Back in August, we featured his take on a BioShock Infinite trailer. This time out, he has a trailer for Grand Theft Auto V that focuses on all three of the game’s playable characters and The Boss added in for good measure. Seriously, someone get this guy a job.

Fans of the Civilization series or the classic Sid Meier’s Alpha Centuri game will have something new to sink their teeth into come this fall. Firaxis promised us something big at PAX East and their idea of a big announcement is to announce that the next game in the Civ series is the spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri with Civilization: Beyond Earth.

Peter Dinklage did an AMA on Reddit. He’s popping in and out as of posting so maybe the former Hand of the King and current Master of Coin will answer a late question of yours. [/r/IAmA]
Well, here’s something that shouldn’t surprise you. The NSA is reported to have exploited the Heartbleed Bug. It seems very underhanded to keep a major security flaw a secret just to exploit it in the name of “national security.” [Bloomberg]
I was going to give AMD’s new 295X2 GPU its own post but it looks like there’s a lot of news coming out of PAX East so that’ll dominate the early week posts. So here’s PC Gamer’s review of AMD’s new top-end graphics card. [PC Gamer]
Science is doing amazing things now. It was revealed this week that scientists grew vaginas for women with Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome and it went quite well. [The Verge]
Have you ever wondered how far Mario has to traverse in the first SMB game? Someone has figured that out for you. [Mental Floss]
How Much Would it Cost to Buy Game of Thrones’ Red Keep?
Every now and then, our friends over at Movoto like coming up real estate valuations of famous fictional landmarks. To mark the return of Game of Thrones for its fourth season, they took a shot at valuing The Red Keep, the castle of the king of the Seven Kingdoms in King’s Landing. I won’t say that they did this just for us but they did email it to me just in time for Fridays of Ice and Fire.
So how much would buying The Red Keep set you back? I’d reckon that the Master of Coin would struggle to come up with that much money.
Goat Simulator Review: G.O.A.T.Y.
Is a comedy game that’s openly considered to be a joke by its own developer and much of the gaming press something that’s a meta joke that also happens to be a game or just a joke that isn’t worth the time and money to buy and play it?
If you’ve read other reviews of Goat Simulator, that’s what they all come down to, whether the reviewer says so or not. Should a game that the developer says is a comparative waste of money be evaluated based on the developer’s promises and description of the game or should it be evaluated against every other game on the market?
The answer has to lie somewhere in the middle ground. Can you punish a game for being a below average technical effort while being exactly what was promised by the devs and hoped for by gamers?
What You Need to Know About the Heartbleed Bug
The big tech news of the week has been a security loophole that could be affecting some of your favourite websites and could be resulting in the leak of your confidential data. A security bug in SSL encryption called Heartbleed allows malicious users to potentially gain access to data that you’d rather keep private.

LucasArts Cancelled a Darth Maul Game in 2011 After Eight Months in Development
One of the many characters that got a bit overlooked in the films and rose to life as a fan favourite game and with some new adventures in the Expanded Universe was Darth Maul. He was so popular that he was retconned out of death and into the Clone Wars animated series by the end of its run.
However, that wasn’t always the plan. A report in Game Informer says that LucasArts originally planned to make a game starring Darth Maul before it was cancelled by LucasArts while it was in the middle of development.
Hotline Miami 2 Brings the Blood in its New Trailer
One of games on my list of the most anticipated games of 2014 has a new trailer. As you would expect, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is going to bring pain and blood and violence in copious amounts and the first gameplay trailer for HM2 is no different.
The most interesting thing from it is some of the special abilities that the characters seem to have. One can dodge. Another has a dodge move to keep you from being turned into Sonny Corleone. And the other is actually synchronized twins. Hopefully you can choose your character in each mission to help mix things up and add some replayability to the game.
