After a week off, the comic book pull list is back. Today, I think I want to do a TV-themed look ahead at the week. I know I’ve previewed Adventure Time series before but Boom Studios has a new series with Finn and Jake called Adventure Time: Flip Side. Nastasha Romanov has been with The Avengers and SHIELD in the Marvel-verse but now she gets her own series in Black Widow #1. And, finally, while we’re used to DC Comics properties getting series on The CW, it’s the other way around now. The CW series The Vampire Diaries gets their own comic series with The Vampire Diaries #1.
In a move that should shock no one, another part of the Star Wars empire has been taken over by another Disney company. Disney’s comic book company, a little publisher called Marvel, will be taking over the Star Wars licence starting in 2014.
I suppose that it would only make sense to start 2014 the same way that we ended 2013: With more lists. To follow up on my recent Best of 2013 post, I thought that it would only be appropriate to look ahead at the upcoming twelve months with my most anticipated games of 2014.
Just when you thought that your smartphone had the latest and greatest tech, NVIDIA has set the bar for mobile processors even higher. Just one year after unveiling the Tegra 4 processor, NVIDIA has unveiled something more akin to a next-generation mobile processor rather than a little increase in horsepower with the Tegra K1.
While professional gamers might be ultra competitive and go for the throat in competition, they’re a great bunch when push comes to shove. The StarCraft community, including a number of star players, have come together to support HyuN (real name Ko Hyun) after his team, Quantic Gaming, failed to pay him $23,000 in salary.
The recent Doctor Who Christmas special marked a couple of milestones for the series. Not only did The Time of The Doctor mark Matt Smith’s final appearance as The Doctor and Peter Capaldi’s first appearance in the titular role but it was the series’ 800th episode dating back to 1963.

Having given you my list of the seven best games of the last generation of consoles, I thought that I should give you a brief look at some of the games that were on the shortlist but didn’t quite make the cut.
Over the course of eight years and thousands of games, cutting a list of the best of the best down to only seven game leaves many deserving games on the sidelines. So to close out our series looking at the best games of the last generation of consoles, here’s a look at some of the games that were under serious consideration for the list.
Is the 2013 Steam Holiday Sale over? Well, yes and no. A lot of the deals seem to have expired. However, Valve has brought back some popular deals for a special 24-hour Encore Special. So 24 games are on discount until 1:00 PM EST tomorrow. I wish Valve was a lot more clear with how their sales work.
Still, there are some fantastic deals today that you should check out just in case you were looking for some more games or can’t wait for the next big sale. Whenever that is.
