If there’s something happening in the news, chances are that Lewis Black has a smart, and likely angry, take on what’s happening. That includes what’s happening with the Xbox One’s Kinect. Microsoft might say it’s not a privacy concern but Lewis isn’t sold.

An Animated Examination of Microsoft’s Xbox One-80 DRM Change
Taiwanese animation producer NMA, or Next Media Animation if you’re more formal, have a unique way of explaining news. I’m not sure I’ve seen a more accurate, or more colourful, way of explaining Microsoft removing DRM from the Xbox One but NMA has it covered. Personally, I think their depiction of the Xbone isn’t too far off the mark.

Microsoft Removes Xbox One DRM
After taking a PR battering over 24-hour online check-in, used games restrictions, contradictory explanations of their policies and seemingly mocking people who didn’t like the Xbox One’s policies, Microsoft is performing an about-face on their established DRM policies.
A post on the Xbox website said that Microsoft was backtracking on the DRM and used games restrictions that nearly derailed the Xbox One in this console generation before it started.

The Xbox One Used Games Instructional Video
Just when you thought that Sony had all the momentum coming out of E3 with their anti-DRM policies and pot shots at the Xbox One, Microsoft fires back with their own versions of the famous PlayStation 4 game sharing instructional video. Unfortunately, I don’t think this will help Microsoft that much.

E3 2013: Xbox One Games Were Running on High-Powered Windows 7 PCs
When a game developer works on a game for a particular console, they get a “dev kit.” These are computers that are specced out to perform similar to the retail version of the console. One would assume that the games being shown off at E3 were running on dev kits but you’d be wrong.
It turns out that eye-witness reports from the floor at E3 say that not only were Xbox One games not running on dev kits but PCs that were likely far more powerful than the XB1.

E3 2013: The Xbox One Launches in Only 21 Countries in November
Do you live in Portugal, the Czech Republic, South Africa, South Korea, China or India and want to play on your Xbox One this holiday season? Well, you’re completely SOL.
Microsoft has posted a list of 21 countries which is calls Xbox One-supported Xbox Live countries which are the only countries where you can access Xbox Live from your Xbox One to activate games and perform the required online check-in to play games when the console launches in November.

E3 2013: Microsoft’s Xbox One Plays Games but for a Big Price
After getting all of the ugly business about DRM, used games, TV, apps and always-connected Kinect out of the way before E3, Microsoft got down to the business of trying to actually trying to sell the upcoming Xbox One as a gaming console.
For their E3 press event, Microsoft came at us with scads of games, both multi-platform and exclusive to the Xbox One to make us forget about all the bad press about the last few months leading up to today’s big showing. Well, until they announced the launch price.

Microsoft Has Lost the Console War Before It Started
The Microsoft keynote event at E3 is about to begin and it doesn’t really matter. Over the last few weeks, Microsoft has repeatedly shot itself in the foot when promoting their upcoming Xbox One. They think that they can do no wrong with their next-gen console but the reality is that the can do nothing right.
Microsoft is walking into E3 thinking that they’re Justin Bieber, they’re on top of the world and full of swagger. They are Justin Bieber but everyone sees them as Justin Bieber, self-important douche, with a bit of Amanda Bynes’ delusional separation from reality.

Five Dream E3 Announcements for the Xbox One
Having written my dream announcements list for the PlayStation 4’s keynote at E3, I thought that it would only be fair to give Microsoft’s new console equal time with their own list of dream announcements for the Xbox One.
Now, I’m not an Xbox guy. I’ve never owned either of the Xbox consoles but at one point considered getting the Xbone before the official unveil. However, that unveiling had nothing that appealed to me. So for my dream announcements for the X1, I’ll try to balance between dream announcements for those firmly in Xbox’s camp and those still not sold in the Xbox One.
