Game of Thrones: Book of the Stranger Review
We’re so used to terrible moments of soul-crushing horror moments in Game of Thrones that happy moments are so few and far between that I’m not sure I remember the last happy moment that this show had. This week, though, we finally got some happy moments. Clearly, George didn’t write this episode. Granted, he could have since it was a damn good episode.

Overwatch Open Beta Impressions: For the Watch
In the run up to its much-anticipated release next week, Blizzard ran the final big beta test for their upcoming first-person shooter franchise Overwatch. While some features, like competitive play, weren’t in the beta, this is the best chance that everyone is going to have to try the game out before Blizzard sticks it hand out looking for $60 for the game. Fortunately for Blizzard, they put a very strong foot forward by basically letting players have a go at a near-complete version of the game.

StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops – Mission Pack 1 Impressions: Sniped
While the story of StarCraft II ended with Legacy of the Void and the Into the Void epilogue, Blizzard hasn’t ended the stories it wants to tell in the StarCraft universe. The first return to the Koprulu sector takes place several years after the conclusion of Legacy of the Void. One of the long-lost Blizzard projects was StarCraft: Ghost which was supposed to introduce Nova as the player character. The game was eventually scrapped and Nova was introduced in Wings of Liberty and a StarCraft: Ghost novel.
Many years after Ghost’s cancellation, Nova finally gets her long-awaited solo project. It’s not a shooter but it’s a real-time strategy game in the same way that we’ve come to know from StarCraft II but with an episodic twist.

Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker Review
Not everyone in Game of Thrones gets a happy ending but the only thing that is certain in A Song of Ice and Fire is that everyone’s story will reach an end. As you would expect from Game of Thrones, more stories reached their end but a couple of stories started anew this week.

Game Trailers Roundup for May 9, 2016
If ever there was a week to check out all of the big video game trailers in one spot, it’s this week. This week’s roundup is only eight trailers long and it loaded with amazing trailers.
First up are two launch trailers for triple-A games. Tomorrow is the launch of Uncharted 4 (review likely coming in the next couple of weeks) and Friday is the launch of Doom. We have both launch trailers. And the two big triple-A military shooter franchises had announcement trailers for their next games. From Activision is Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare while EA goes old school with Battlefield 1.

Clash Royale Review: Dealing from the Bottom of the Deck
Now that I’ve got a phone that’s less than three years old, I can finally start reviewing mobile games. Let’s start with one of the latest games to top the mobile games charts.
Supercell had a hit on its hands with Clash of Clans. The tower defense game still sits near the top of Google’s top grossing games chart. For their follow-up, they took many of the elements of Clash of Clans and distilled it into a competitive multiplayer strategy game called Clash Royale.

Game of Thrones: Home Review
Is it better for a story to be predictable or should it throw a few curveballs at you along the way? If every story was plot twists for their own sake, it would be Vince Russo booking and that put WCW out of business (among many, many, many other things). Some of the various characters had some pretty big twists in their stories while other big stories just went the way we expected. It’s a nice mix and probably the way that the stories needed to go.

Game of Thrones: The Red Woman Review
It’s been over ten months but the long wait for something new from George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones franchise and Sunday was the start of Season Six of HBO’s Game of Thrones. This also marked the start of brand new material for the franchise. The five books were exhausted in the last season so this episode was the first look at A Song of Ice and Fire for everyone.

The Walking Dead: Michonne – Episode Two Review: No Shelter Given
A while back, I wondered if Telltale Games had spread itself too thin. At that point in time, it had The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands in the works. Since then, they’ve added Batman and Minecraft to their lineup along with this TWD miniseries before the upcoming The Walking Dead: Season Three.
The first episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne certainly seemed like evidence that Telltale had finally overwhelmed itself and its quality was slipping. Episode Two: Give No Shelter is an improvement on the first episode but we’re still a long way from the peak of Telltale’s ability.

Movie Trailers Roundup for April 13, 2016
It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these too. In fact, it’s been over a month since we gathered all of the week’s movie trailers into one handy post that we call the Movie Trailers Roundup.
We have eight trailers in this week’s roundup. Since we have that post dedicated to Rogue One, it’s not in here. However, this fall’s other mega blockbusters, Fantastic Beasts and Doctor Strange, are in the roundup. Along with them are new trailers for Suicide Squad and TMNT2. There is no shortage of action movie trailers for you to watch today.
