Haven: Lay Me Down Review

haven-title-card-bannerLast week’s episode would have been a perfect point to have a mid-season hiatus. The sixth episode of the season certainly pulled a 180 on what had been going on for the early part of the fourth season. Now that this season has kicked it into high gear, has this week’s new episode kept up the momentum or is it more of the same?

Haven: Countdown Review

haven-logoWell, that escalated quickly. I was settling in for a week of Nathan being bitter that Lexi was Lexi rather than Audrey and Jordan slowly seducing Wade to get him to do her dirty work and instead the rug was pulled right out from under me. While I like surprises, I’m not exactly sold that shifting Haven from about third gear straight into seventh is a great idea.

Netflix Scores the Greatest Customer Service Win of All-Time

Wait, it’s possible to have a good customer service experience? Somebody should have told that to United Airlines before they left me stranded overnight for the second time on my vacation a couple of years back and Telus before they hung up on me while I waited for help with a tech issue.

Imgur user normanh found out that not all experiences with customer services reps are painful after contacting Netflix. The resulting conversation might be the best customer service experience in recorded history.

Haven: New Girl Review

haven-text-headerLast week on Haven, everyone was happy because Audrey was back in town. Then everyone was angry because it wasn’t Audrey but Lexi who was back in town. Now, everyone’s got a gun and is threatening to do a lot of shooting. And that doesn’t mention that someone is using mind control on some of the townsfolk. Lexi is right. Why do people still live in Haven?

What if Pokemon Took Place in Arlen, Texas?

I doubt that this ranks very high in life’s great what-if questions but what would the Pokemon cartoon be like if it didn’t take place in Kanto Region but in the small town of Arlen, Texas? What if our hero wasn’t Ash Ketchum but Hank Hill? What if Gary Oak wasn’t our heroes rival but Boomhauer?

Most importantly, what if all of these what-ifs came together in a really funny video?

Haven: Lost and Found Review

haven-promo-headerLast week on Haven, we moved one step closer to the band getting back together. This week, Audrey has to escape the Barn or disappear into the aether. Meanwhile, Nathan is dealing with missing children and Duke and Jen continue their adventures to find Audrey from their side of reality. It sets up as just another episode of Haven but those last ten minutes made the setup worth it.

Yes, RDJ Owns a Flying Iron Man Suit

He might not be Tony Stark but I don’t think that means that Robert Downey Jr. is any less cool than Tony Stark. As a gift for wrapping Avengers, RDJ’s staff got him a custom-built life-size R/C flying Iron Man suit. Okay, it’s not an actual suit of armor but I think that’s still pretty cool.

Haven: Bad Blood Review

haven-title-card-bannerWe’ve finally got some progress in Haven this week. Sure, life with Nathan might be same old, same old but the other main players saw their story progress. All it took was a cheesy horror movie monster that was neither cheesy or horrific to move things on the Duke front while Jennifer and Audrey got some properly interesting moments this week.
