The Tetris Movie is Now The Tetris Trilogy to Fit the Story

tetris-mock-trailer-headerJust when you thought that the question was “how do they make a movie out of Tetris,” the folks at Threshold Entertainment has changed it to “how in the blue hell are they going to make a movie trilogy out of Tetris?” The movie’s producer has told Empire that the planned Tetris movie will be a trilogy because the story is too big to be told in just one movie.

Producer Larry Kasanoff, who counts Mortal Kombat among his credits, told Empire, “The story we conceived is so big. This isn’t us splitting the last one of our eight movies in two to wring blood out of the stone. It’s just a big story.”

What is the story, then? Kasanoff won’t say other than it’s a sci-fi movie. It won’t be blocks with feet hellbent on world domination. Apart from this and that the Tetris trilogy will be a joint American and Chinese production with actors and actresses from both countries, not much is actually known about the upcoming Tetris trilogy.

So if it wasn’t a puzzling enough question (pun intended) as to what the Tetris movie would be about, now we’re left with the more difficult question of what’s the story for a whole trilogy of Tetris movies? Anyone have a hypothesis?
