Warner Bros. Says Arkham Origins DLC a Priority Over Bug Fixes
Warner Bros. has stuck a fork in the Batman: Arkham franchise. Some would argue that they already did that when they took control of the series from Rocksteady and handed it to rookie developers WB Games Montreal.
A community manager took to the game’s official forum to announce that WB Montreal had suspended work on patching the game and had devoted itself to working on the game’s DLC.
In a post in the support section of Arkham’s the official forum, community manager Mercury told gamers:
Hi all,
The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.
If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient.
When the game came out, a number of reviews and fan complaints stemmed from the number of bugs in the game. As Mercury noted in his post, some of those bugs were effectively game breaking as they prevented you from progressing. I would have thought that game-breaking bugs would have been a high priority for a developer but it turns out not at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
This isn’t the first piece of DLC news to come from Arkham Origins. It had previously been reported that WB had cancelled DLC on the Wii U forcing them to refund customers on the console who had already purchased the Season Pass.
As for Rocksteady Games, they’re still working on DC Comics games for WB. However, the latest rumours had them working on either a retro Batman game or a Justice League game. I think Batman and DC fans will welcome them back after the issues many have had with WB Games Montreal.

It’s simple; We kill the franchise.

If it’s so simple, why hasn’t Warner Bros. done it already?
