Infamous: Second Son’s Lead Designer Leaves Ahead of Launch
While it’s not unusual for employees to leave game developers around the launch of a game after their services are no longer required, the latest development over at inFamous: Second Son developer, Sucker Punch Productions, was certainly unexpected.
Very quietly, the lead designer on inFamous: Second Son, Jaime Griesemer, has left Sucker Punch Productions only days before the release of the game.
No public release of Griesemer’s change of employment was made. Instead, he changed his information on LinkedIn and confirmed it to a fan on Twitter.
Griesemer joined Sucker Punch in June 2011 which was when the company launched inFamous 2. Prior to that, he was with Bungie working on the Halo games and their upcoming Destiny. There’s no word as to what the future holds in store for him but I would imagine that his resume means that he won’t remain unemployed for long.
This is the second high-profile departure at a first-party Sony Computer Entertainment studio in the last few weeks. We’re only two weeks removed from finding out that Uncharted series director and writer, Amy Hennig, left Naughty Dog. You almost wonder what’s happening over at the blue brand to cause two prominent developers to leave in quick succession.
