Here’s Super Hexagon on Commodore 64

Have you played Super Hexagon and thought that you’d enjoy it more if it was a little less bright, vibrant and high-res? Well, Paul Koller has answered your prayers with his de-make of Super Hexagon for the Commodore 64 called Micro Hexagon. You can download it for free from the Commodore 64 Scene Database.

Here’s a video of Micro Hexagon in action. Just like the real thing, this makes me dizzy and nauseous too. I guess I won’t be playing this either.

Super Hexagon Gets Recreated in LittleBigPlanet 2

I’m not sure what surprises me more about that headline: That there is still a strong community of level builders two years after LBP2’s release, that it was possible to recreate Super Hexagon in the level creation tools or that someone would actually be crazy enough to do this.

Anyway, your favourite nausea inducing, optical nerve frying iOS port has an unofficial new version in LBP2. It might be a little slower and easier on the eyes than the original but it doesn’t look too much easier to play. Not that that’s a bad thing. Super Hexagon still gives me nightmares.

Super Hexagon Review: My Eyes! The Goggles Do Nothing!

In a year where small indie games were more fondly thought of and better reviewed than many triple-A releases, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the one-man development team of Terry Cavanagh was able to produce a critically acclaimed game.
