This House of Cards / Walking Dead Intro Mashup is Appropriate and Awesome

While politics interests me, I often find it painful to follow and discuss with people. Any optimism I once had about politics has long since been washed away by cynicism. That’s convenient because I’m getting cynical about The Walking Dead since I just assume that it’ll be dreadfully dull to watch and discuss.

Okay, that segue is a pretty poor introduction to this mashup of House of Cards and The Walking Dead but it can’t be any worst than the obligatory “This is awesome!” that this intro by District 7 Media deserves.

What if Disney Princesses Were Game of Thrones Characters?

disney-game-of-thrones-banner-djedjehutiSince we’re only six weeks away from the season premiere of Game of Thrones, I think that now is the time for the return of regular Game of Thrones posts in a series that I’ve come to dub Fridays of Ice and Fire.

For the return of Game of Thrones posts, I found this mashup of Disney princesses with characters from Game of Thrones in the gallery of DjeDjehuti. So what would Disney characters look like if they were in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros?

All 32 NFL Teams in the Star Wars Universe

While Disney might be gutting the Expanded Universe, who knows what the rebuild could result in. Given that Disney’s ESPN channel pays NFL rights fees in excess of $1 billion, Disney’s propensity for cross-promotion and the inclusion of various sports in the prequel trilogy, a Star Wars-ized football league wouldn’t be out of the question for the Disney trilogy.

So what would the Star Wars equivalents to the current crop of NFL teams look like? Reddit user IlliterateGenius dreamed it up. Go Rancors!

Ryu Attacks Taylor Swift at the Grammys, Fails to Silence Her

Street Fighter’s Ryu made a surprise appearance at the Grammys when he attacked Taylor Swift in the middle of her performance. Swift showed impeccable professionalism and continued her song unabated… Much to the world’s chagrin. And this is why I always picked Ken.

At least we got this cool video from Twisted Genre. He wins! Perfect!

What if Pokemon Took Place in Arlen, Texas?

I doubt that this ranks very high in life’s great what-if questions but what would the Pokemon cartoon be like if it didn’t take place in Kanto Region but in the small town of Arlen, Texas? What if our hero wasn’t Ash Ketchum but Hank Hill? What if Gary Oak wasn’t our heroes rival but Boomhauer?

Most importantly, what if all of these what-ifs came together in a really funny video?

Breaking Thrones with Walter White

What would happen is Walter White was on Game of Thrones? I’ve never really wondered but someone at Pleated Jeans has and put together this mash-up of Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad.

Wouldst Thou Read William Shakespeare’s Star Wars?

Normally when I look at mashups, it’s of two sci-fi properties. Now, you can read modern sci-fi and classic drama mashed up in William Shakespeare’s Star Wars.

This book is the classic Star Wars story reimagined as a Shakespearean play complete with classic lingo and iambic pentameter. And the actors threatened to make George read his dialogue. What would they do if they saw this dialogue?

Mass Effect Meets Star Wars in an Epic Sci-Fi Mashup

I’ve probably been a bit too cynical about all the goings on at E3 this year but it’s hard not to be given proper gameplay innovations are few and far between. If I hear about another second screen experience or the power of the cloud, I’m going to start pulling my hair out.

So to cheer me up, I’m going to show you one of my favourite Mass Effect mashups. DeviantArt user Zarnala has put together a few epic mashup pictures of Star Wars and Mass Effect.

Curly, Larry and Moe are The A-Team

In 1972 , a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum-security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem… if no one else can help… and if you can find them… maybe you can hire… The A-Team.

A Doctor Who/Back to the Future Mashup of Epic Epicness

Britain’s legendary wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey TV series meets the classic American time travel movie in this amazing animated mashup. The Doctor is Doc Brown, Rory is Marty and Amy is Jennifer in this cross between Doctor Who and Back to the Future. And, yes, there is a DeLorean TARDIS.
