Extra Life Raises $6.3 Million for Charity
For 24 hours starting on the morning of November 7th, gamers gathered online to raise money for charity. The annual Extra Life fundraiser sees gamers do a 24-hour marathon gaming stream to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. This year, the live streaming marathons raised $6,360,566 in donations.

PSA: Extra Life 2014 is This Weekend
The annual game streaming marathon fundraiser Extra Life. Every year, gamers come together to do 24-hour live streams of them playing games to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Streams start at about 8:00 AM local time and run for the next 24 hours. Donations and presumably stream ad revenue go to charity.

Neither rain, nor snow, nor DDoS attacks stayed gamers from raising a record amount of money for charity during last weekend’s Extra Life charity fundraiser. Despite suffering a DDoS attack on its main website, Extra Life raised over $3.8 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
