If the whole Prothean super weapon thing doesn’t go well for Commander Shepard, she has to have another plan up her sleeve. Fortunately for the galaxy, she’s been hard at work on a new plan to stop the Reapers.

Building (Critical) Consensus: Fuse
I have to admit that I was looking forward to Fuse. I’ve been a fan of Insomniac Games since the Spyro the Dragon days and given that I’ve been wanting something new and fresh to play, Fuse seemed right up my alley. Then the critics got a hold of it and are making me pause.
I’m not exactly a big fan of story-lite games and less so of games that force you to rely on terrible co-op AI. Well, unfortunately, it seems that’s what you have in store for you if you pick up Fuse.
What’s It Like Inside a Pokémon’s Poké Ball?
I’ve never given much thought into what it’s like to live inside a Poke Ball. I always just assumed that Pokemon were converted into some sort of energy and stored inside the Poke Ball. The blue lightning effect from the cartoon reminded me a lot of Star Trek’s transporter setup so I guessed it was like a transporter where Pokemon were held in a suspended state until called upon again.
That theory of how Pokemon live inside the Poke Ball is explored by the folks at Movato along with two others in a handy new infographic.
Cloud’s Buster Sword is Real and Ridiculous
As cool as Sephiroth and his sword was in Final Fantasy VII, Cloud’s famous Buster Sword was on another level of sheer over-the-top insanity. Sure, Sephiroth’s sword was long but it was closer to an up-scaled letter opener than a sword. The Buster Sword, on the other hand, looks like it could slice someone clean in two.
So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that when the folks on YouTube’s AweMeChannel, it was the biggest sword they ever build.
The Secret of Peter Molyneux’s Curiosity Revealed
The long-awaited secret behind Peter Molyneux and 22Cans’ iOS cube-clicker Curiosity has finally been revealed. The prize at the end of the Curiosity could be considered a bit underwhelming and massively unexpected at the same time.
The winner of Curiosity was Bryan Henderson of Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the person who destroyed the final cubes surrounding Curiosity’s secret. For his troubles of cube clicking, Henderson won two very interesting prizes.
Kinect 2.0 Will Be Very Creepy
A recent report by Polygon suggests that the Xbox One could find new ways to annoy the hardcore gamer. While they’re humming and hawing over used games, Polygon’s sources are talking about the XBOne’s iteration of Kinect being a little bit like Apple’s Siri program. However, it seems to be that it’s a bit closer to HAL 9000 than Siri.
Console Wars: The Xbox One’s Failure to Launch is a Marketing Problem
Having had a few days to digest the two very different launch events for Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One, I’ve come to a realization. As much as people don’t seem to like the Xbox launch, it wasn’t a failure in and of itself. In fact, I believe that Microsoft successfully accomplished what it set out to do.
The Xbox One and PlayStation Four both play video games. However, if you were to watch the two launch events, I’d understand if you were a little confused by that statement. While the PlayStation 4’s launch emphasised how it plays games and how it augments that with the social networking and sharing features, the Xbox spent comparatively little time talking about the games.
The difference in the launches was an example of how the console manufacturers are positioning their next-gen consoles in the market.
Redditors Engage in Arcade Building One-Upmanship
May 23
This gallery contains 16 photos.
I’m not sure it was intended to be a game of one-upmanship when a Reddit user with a basement arcade posted a photo gallery of his arcade a few ours after the guy with a garage arcade. The thing is that I, and I’d imagine several thousand other people, would be very happy with either. […]
Relive the Downfall of Rapture in a BioShock Fan Film
So the planned BioShock film helmed by director Gore Verbinski didn’t work out but that doesn’t mean that we’ll never have a live-action return to Rapture.
A group of Vancouver film students did their own short fan film looking at the rise of plasmids and the downfall of Rapture from the prospectives of two brothers who travelled to the underwater city to be artists. I call it a fan film but the sets, props and special effects are absolutely fantastic. You mean to tell me that students can manage this but Hollywood can’t do it without breaking the bank?
