Dark Horse is Launching a New Firefly Comic Series
For all the talk about movie sequels and Netflix TV series revivals, we haven’t had any more Firefly. But, as we all know, you can’t stop the signal and no power in the verse can stop Firefly. Browncoats looking for more Firefly will be getting that from an upcoming comic series published by Dark Horse Comics.
The comic will be called Serenity and continue the story of the crew of the Serenity following the movie of the same name. The comic sees River Tam taking over as co-pilot. Meanwhile, Zoe is pregnant and dealing with Wash’s death. All the while, Mal is trying to keep his ship and his crew safe from The Alliance who aren’t exactly happy that everyone knows that they created the Reavers.
While Dark Horse hasn’t revealed the identity of the comic’s writer yet, they are willing to tell us that Georges Jeanty will be drawing Serenity. It’s not his first time adapting a Whedon TV series for the pages of a comic book. Jeanty was an artist on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic.
Details of Serenity are fairly scarce for now but we should expect more news from Dark Horse soon. More news is expected next month at New York Comic Con.
