EA Helps Charities with the Humble Origin Bundle
Just when I was questioning the use of the Humble Bundle platform by big publishers, EA goes and turns everything on its head. And shockingly, EA is doing it for the best.
The latest Humble Bundle is a large offering of EA games which might I would have looked at rather cynically after the recent “humble” Deep Silver bundle. However, EA isn’t taking a penny with all of the proceeds of the Humble Origin Bundle going to charity and Humble Bundle.
The Humble Origin Bundle is pay what you want for Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2: Maximum Edition, Mirror’s Edge, Dead Space 3 and Medal of Honor. If you pay above the average price, you will also get Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 with the Starter Pack expansion. As a bonus, while all games can be unlocked on Origin, all but Dead Space 3, Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 can be unlocked on Steam.
I’m so used to EA making massive PR mistakes, I’m nearly at a loss for words here. They’re putting some of their biggest and most popular titles for sale with absolutely no money in return to support charity. It seems like the least EA thing ever and is absolutely brilliant. I have to give EA credit. This is a great thing they’re doing. I’m definitely supporting it. I have all but two of those games and am doing it to support charity. You should do your part too.
