The War Z, which I refuse to refer to as Infestation: Survivor Stories until such time as the game is fixed to the point of being playable and not just a blatant cash grab, hasn’t been hurt by its terrible reputation. The game’s publisher has announced that the game has over 1.3 million registered users.

These statistics came out shortly after The War Z was the beneficiary of massive discounts during the recent Steam Summer Sale. While it was one of the ten daily deal for July 18th, The War Z was one of the best-selling games on Steam.

Of course, just because the game is selling well doesn’t mean that it’s a good game. The War Z’s Metacritic ranking hasn’t shown signs of improving from its current 20. Massively’s days old look at the game indicate that it’s still a broken mess.

tl;dr – Just because people are buying this game doesn’t mean that you have to… And you probably shouldn’t.
