Star Wars: Episode VII On-Track to Start Shooting in 2014
Bad Robot co-founder and Star Wars: Episode VII producer, Byran Burk, has spilled the beans about some of the plans for Episode VII. He’s not talking about the plot, characters or actors in the movie though. He’s strictly talking about logistics and it looks like things are still on track for a 2015 release.
Speaking to Collider, Burk said:
We’re progressing on a schedule to hopefully begin next year, or the beginning of next year, and the location is still kind of floating around in the air all depending on script and a whole bunch of other issues. As I just said, everything is kind of a free-flowing thing, and when we feel like the story level on this script and everything is really coming together and schedules are all working and pieces line up, we prowl ahead, and Star Wars will be no different.
Collider also revealed that work is still being done on the script but Abrams is keeping in touch with writer Michael Arndt to hone the script. Currently, they haven’t started location scouting as the team want the script to be basically done before going hard into pre-production. With two years until release, the longer they wait to start work, the tighter they will be to that deadline.
