Game Trailers Roundup for September 22, 2014

If you’re in North America, the big video game event of the year is June’s E3 in Los Angeles. If you’re a European gamer, you keep your eyes on August’s GamesCom for news. And if you’re a Japanese gamer, the year builds to the annual Tokyo Game Show.

For today’s Game Trailers Roundup, we have pulled together scads of trailers from this year’s edition of TGS. If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, you’re in luck because we have trailers for XV and Type-0 HD as well as an FF15 gameplay video. There are new trailers for Metal Gear Solid V, Bloodborne and The Great Ace Attorney. If you’re looking for non-TGS trailers, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Battlefield: Hardline also released new trailers last week for your viewing.

Game Trailers Roundup for September 15, 2014

It’s been far, far too long since I’ve done a roundup of recently released game trailers. When they come out, I add them to my watch later list on YouTube and that list has gotten embarrassingly long. Between triple-As, double-As and indie titles, there are scads of trailers that we need to catch you up on.

This week, we’ve got some upcoming releases including Forza Horizon 2 and Crimes and Punishments to help you put together an end of the month shopping list. If Pokemon is more your speed, we have a couple of trailers for that too. Maybe you’re a horror fan? There are trailers for Alien: Isolation and Resident Evil: Revelations 2. And that’s just some of the trailers we have for you.

Game Trailers Roundup for August 25, 2014

I was so busy going through Reddit to get the Gamescom trailers for last week’s trailers roundup that I think that I forgot several trailers that I had saved in my watch later list on YouTube. So today’s roundup will be longer than I expected but I doubt anyone will mind.

Today’s roundup has eight trailers for you. There’s a five-minute trailer for the season finale of The Walking Dead that covers Clementine’s journey over the last two seasons which is absolutely epic and the only trailer you need to watch this week. We also have the Destiny launch trailer which I find kind of amazing because I had forgotten that it was a September release. There are also trailers for CoD:AW, Bloodborne and Dead Island 2 if the first two aren’t your speed. And we have a first look at CD Projekt’s The Witcher: Battle Arena which is a free-to-play mobile MOBA.

Game Trailers Roundup for August 18, 2014

Another week, another set of game trailers to get you hyped. Because we just wrapped up Gamescom, there are a lot of trailers for us to go through today.

Both Destiny and Star Citizen pulled out all the stops with multiple trailers released over the course of Gamescom week. EA kept busy with some reveals and trailers, a few of which we’ve already covered and a couple of which we have below. If you’ve fallen behind on trailers to watch over the last week, there’s quite a bit for you to catch up on.

Gamescom 2014 Gameplay Videos Roundup

As I mentioned in the last post, I thought I’d follow up on the news from Gamescom with video of the games of Gamescom. After all, it’s one thing to tell you about the games and gameplay that on display but it’s a far different thing to show you the vertical slices of gameplay that the developers worked hard on for the convention.

And even though Sega has filed for a settlement in the lawsuit, I’m still going to make the easy Aliens: Colonial Marines joke. Conveniently enough, we also have a gameplay demo for Alien: Isolation among other anticipated triple-A releases.

Game Trailers Roundup for August 11, 2014

The Trailers Roundup is a little bit short this week. That’s because everyone is gearing up for Gamescom this weekend. In the grand scheme of things, it’s the last big industry event between now and the holiday buying season. Any remaining bullets in the chamber are being held onto for this weekend in Cologne so things are a bit quiet this week.

We do have three triple-A games with trailers this week. Metro Redux, Dying Light and the legacy-gen Assassin’s Creed: Rogue all revealed new trailers last week. And Sierra might be coming back for a Gamescom revival.

Game Trailers Roundup for August 5, 2014

A day late thanks to a holiday Monday in Ontario but it’s never a dollar short, it’s time for us to look at the video game trailers from the last week. If you’re looking forward to fall releases, this will be the roundup for you. Expected financial blockbusters Dragon Age: Inquisition and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare have gameplay and story trailers, respectively.

If you’re more interested in double-A franchises, Codemaster’s new F1 game got a reveal trailer. Whether the lack of engine sound in it is a commentary on the new F1 engine formula or just the early state of work on sound is something Codies would have to tell us. Digimon gets a new fighting game and a new Chinese MOBA gets announced.

Game Trailers Roundup for July 28, 2014

It’s not E3 but the annual San Diego Comic Con gives game developers and publishers a big platform to make announcements and show off the latest looks at their upcoming games to a big audience. With Comic Con having become a part of mainstream culture rather than just “geek culture,” this past weekend might be the second most important promotional week of the year behind E3. You could make an argument for Gamescom but that’s very gamer-centric so it doesn’t get the news out as far.

This week, we have a whole pile of trailers that come to us from Comic Con. Microsoft has a pretty looking trailer for the Halo 2 rerelease. Licensed games get some love with Lego Batman 3, Firefly Online and a new Sherlock Holmes game getting new trailers. Speaking of new, BioWare teases their new IP in a live-action teaser.

Game Trailers Roundup for July 21, 2014

It seems as though we do one week on, one week off for game trailers. One week, we get a whole pile of trailers for upcoming and announced games. The next, almost nothing. This week is a week with lots of trailers.

We lead off with the trailer for this week’s Episode Four of The Walking Dead: Season Two. I know I’m behind on the reviews for this season so I’m hoping to get both Episode Three and Episode Four done this week. From the triple-A ranks, E3 favourites AC Unity and NHL 15 get new trailers. From the indies, World of Speed and The Long Dark get trailers and I’m still excited about The Long Dark.

Game Trailers Roundup for July 14, 2014

While last week was a busy one for our video game trailers roundup, this week is a bit quieter. We’ve had to go into gameplay previews to fill out the post this week.

Considering that I talked about Battleborn earlier today, it’s only appropriate that we have the Battleborn reveal trailer today. Along with that, we have a look at the E3 demo for Dragon Age: Inquisition, a game that I’m hoping to get a review copy of so I’m shamelessly running a trailer-ish video. Okay, PR folks recommended I do “preview coverage” but these posts are as close as I’m willing to come without slapping a disingenuous title on the preview like “Hype Train.”
