Back in May, we brought you news that the world’s oldest gaming publication, CVG, was on the chopping block as part of their publisher’s structural evaluation. A second round of evaluations took place earlier this month and on Friday, CVG announced that they would be closing their doors.

Just as the gaming industry grows with record revenues at the launch of a new console generation, the old guard of the gaming media whithers and dies. A BBC report says that CVG’s publishers, Future, are examining the future of the CVG brand and may shut the magazine down.
