Fullscreen to Buy Rooster Teeth

rooster-teeth-headerOne of the most popular production studios and multi-channel networks on YouTube is going to get bigger. Rooster Teeth, the production studio and YouTube MCN that rose to fame with its Halo-based Red vs. Blue series, announced that it is being purchased by Fullscreen, one of YouTube’s biggest MCN’s based on number of viewers.

In the release announcing the acquisition, Fullscreen said that their plans for Rooster Teeth included growing both the studio’s audience and production capabilities along with continuing work on current series and developing new ones.

Fans of Rooster Teeth should worry about too many big changes straight away. The release made special note of series/channels including Achievement Hunter, Immersion, RWBY, The Gauntlet and Red vs. Blue. It also appears that the Rooster Teeth Expo (RTX) is safe for now as it was mentioned by Fullscreen along with RT’s upcoming feature film, Lazer Team.

I don’t know much about Rooster Teeth apart from some of the original Red vs. Blue episodes and that my sister is a big fan of them. If the recent Extra Life stream is any indication, getting Levar Burton says that they have a bit of money and pull already. Being bought by a bigger company will only increase it. Now, they just have to put it to good use.
