The Steam Halloween Sale Starts October 30th
Are you a fan of big discounts? Are you a fan of horror games? Well, if you answered yes to either of those questions (but preferably both questions), Valve has you covered. The Steam store will be running a special Halloween Sale from October 30 to November 3rd so you can get discounts on your favourite Halloween themed games.
Unlike the Steam Thanksgiving and Holiday sales, this sale isn’t open to all of the games in the Steam catalog. Valve has been sure to point out that only Halloween themed games will be featured as part of the sale. So while The Stanley Parable is an amazing game, Valve won’t let it go on discount as part of a Halloween sale.
Considering that there is often a bit of confusion around the end of Steam sales, it’s worth mentioning now that the sale runs from 10:00 AM Pacific time on Thursday, October 30 to 10:00 AM Pacific time on Monday, November 3.
Here’s the Steam announcement as leaked:
It’s important to note that in the announcement, Steam said that the eight-week discount buffer zone doesn’t apply to that sale. I’ve never seen a reference to an eight-week buffer zone between discounts. Presumably, this means that games have to go eight weeks between being featured on daily deals, weekly deals, weekend deals and midweek sales with the big Steam promotions excluded from this window. It probably means nothing to most people but I found it interesting.
