Steam Summer Sale 2014 Dates Leak

steam-sale-wallpaperSorry to interrupt your E3 coverage but I thought that it would be a bit more important for you to get your wallets ready for the apocalypse. Did I say apocalypse? I meant 2014 Steam Summer Sale.

A reported leak over on NeoGAF says that this year’s Steam Summer Sale will run from June 19th to June 30th.

Here’s the advertisement that shows the dates for the upcoming sale:

Eurogamer is reporting that the sale proper will run from June 19th to the 28th with the final two days acting as the encore period in which popular deals get repeated. It’s expected that the usual flash sales and community picks will continue being offered.

So the long and sort of that is that you shouldn’t buy any games for the next seven days and only order from the value menu when you go to McDonald’s. Don’t judge. I love Big Macs.

As per usual, Steam isn’t commenting on the veracity of the dates listed in the leak. Steam is notoriously secretive about the dates of the sales with official announcements of them from Valve coming far too shortly before the sale for many gamers.

Before the sale starts, let’s remind you of the golden rule: Don’t buy anything unless it’s on a daily deal, flash sale or community pick sale.
